Some theories of language learning motivation

Abstract

The property and quality of learners’ motivation have big impacts on their attitude and studying result. In foreign language classrooms, teachers should try to create favourable conditions to help the learners motivate themselves. To do this, teachers should have knowledge of and combine various learning motivation theories. The paper introduces three widely used theories of motivation in foreign language learning.
