Applying design thinking in community ser- vice learning at University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National Uni- versity, Hanoi

Abstract

The “community service learning” model has been applied in several universities in Vietnam, but it is still relatively new to University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Along with applying the design thinking, this model has been merged with the teaching and learning activities for students in the University to assist deaf and dumb students in Hanoi Private High School of Teaching Deaf and Dumb Children during COVID and Post-COVID Era. This paper focuses on the benefits of applying the design thinking and community service learning perceived by students, lecturers, institutions and communities, then proposes some recommendations for a broader scope.
