The translation of Vietnamese materials into English and vice versa has proven to be challenging for many Vietnamese English-major students. As a result, their translation texts contain a lot of translation errors. The goal of this study is to identify and categorize the most common translation errors made by fourth-year Englishmajor students in their practicum reports. The most frequent types of translation errors include grammatical, semantic, perceiving, and transmitting problems, according to a study of 69 practicum reports by English-major students at the Faculty of English Language, School of Languages and Tourism, Hanoi University of Industry. In order to improve translation learning and teaching, certain pedagogical implications have been examined and suggested for teachers and students to use in their classes.
