Traditional crafts in Vietnam in fairy colors

Abstract

The article points out characteristics of traditional crafts in Vietnam with the thought “traditional crafts in fairy colors”. Derived from the general conceptions of the classification of crafts, ancestors, artisans, craft villages, products of the crafts and the “markets”,... it can be seen through the crafts in Vietnam: the old way of living, relationships, customs and practices, conceptions of heaven and earth and spirits, the vicissitudes of dynasties, or migrations; mundane besides elegant, even the divine regal, this and other worlds, or half-real, half-fantasy, etc. In order to have a “happy ending”, there must be conditions for traditional crafts, including brands and markets, products’ price and quality, production technology and environment, etc. and the enthusiasm of artisans and policies of the State.
