The headwords of the Encyclopedia of Tour- ism according to the geographical area

Abstract

The encyclopedia of tourism consists of many subcategories depending on whether it is divided by geographical area or sector of the tourism. By geographical area, there are types of encyclopedias of international tourism, national tourism and local tourism. The article researches the characteristics of the headwords in these types of encyclopedias of tourism. We recognize that, although they reflect the same knowledge of the tourism, their different specific purposes and scopes have created different headwords. Ranging from the encyclopedias of international tourism, national tourism to local tourism, the theoretical information tends to decrease; practical information tends to increase. These fundamental differences establish the characteristics of each type of encyclopedia of tourism.
