The similarities in the concepts of marriage of Vietnamese people and Koreans through proverbs

Abstract

The proverbs are short, rhyming sayings, handed down in folklore, summarizing knowledge, practical experience and profound humanistic lessons left by ancestors, in which the lessons about family life in general and the relationship between husband and wife in particular are very important. The article delves into the similarities in the concepts of marriage between Vietnamese people and Koreans through the proverbs, namely the factors affecting the relationship between husband and wife, and methods of maintaining a good marriage through the proverbs; thereby explaining the causes of these similarities from the historical - cultural perspective.
