Teachers’ perspectives on field trip imple- mentation in teaching English

Abstract

The article investigates teachers’ perspectives on field trip implementation in teaching English. Data collection instrument includes semi-structured interviews with the teachers who directly organized the field trips for non-English major students of the fast-track program at University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The major findings of this research have revealed that when planning and organizing a field trip, three important stages should be included: pre- trip, trip, and post-trip. Additionally, this activity has been highly appreciated by the instructors for its benefits; however, they still face certain challenges. Some pedagogical implications have been also proposed for the effective field trip implementation in EFL education
