The importance and applicability of idioms in teaching and learning English

Abstract

Idioms play an important role in the process of teaching English. The article examines the importance of idioms in the process of teaching English. The survey materials are questionnaires, including 100 votes for secondyear students majoring in Finance - Banking, Thuongmai University and 10 votes for teachers participating in teaching English module 1 of the Department of English Translation. In addition, the article observes 50 hours of English teaching in English classes 1 in order to analyze and collect the data, from which it is possible to raise the status of using idioms in English lessons, and  propose the ways to apply idioms in teaching and learning English for university students
