Duong Khau Luong - the fire keeper of Ban Hon

Abstract

Duong Khau Luong, a typical poet of modern Bac Kan poetry, has a great influence on mountainous ethnic literature. Rarely is there any national poet who composes so many genres: Vietnamese poetry, Tay poetry, Tay-Vietnamese bilingual poetry, adult poetry, children poetry, bjooc ma poetry (a new creative poetry form of Duong Khau Luong), etc., and in each genre, he has had remarkable successes. Duong Khau Luong’s compositions are filled with love and pride for his homeland, his village, and cultural values rich in Tay ethnic identity.
