The theme of ideals of men in Cao Ba Quat’s Chinese poetry

Abstract

Cao Ba Quat’s Chinese poetry has made great contributions to Vietnamese medieval literature. The article deals with one of the typically hướng tâm themes in Cao Ba Quat’s Chinese poetry, namely the ideals of men. This is a traditional theme expressing the breath of a changing period of our country’s history. Through this theme, we can approach the portrait of Cao Ba Quat, a man of mettle, ambition and purity, as well as understand his escape in thought.
