Linguistic - cultural relationship of the Tay and Vietnamese ethnic groups

Abstract

Cultural relationship among ethnic groups is the combined result of other relationships such as linguistic relationship, economic, political relationship, social or residential area relationship, etc. in which, cultural relationship is always the nucleus in relationships among ethnic groups. During the development process, the Tay ethnic group in the North and Northeast regions in our country has come into contact in many aspects with other ethnic groups, including the Kinh ethnic group (Vietnamese ethnic group). Thus, the Tay language is greatly influenced by the languages of the Vietnamese and other ethnic groups. There are many common features in phonetics, vocabulary, grammar, and writing between Tay language and Vietnamese, which explains the similarities in thinking and culture between the Tay and Vietnamese peoples.
