Factors influencing the perception and description about women in Hong Duc Quoc am thi tap and Thanh Tong di thao by Le Thanh Tong

Abstract

In this article, we have mentioned some factors that influence Le Thanh Tong’s view of women through the two works Hong Duc quoc am thi tap and Thanh Tong di thao such as: historical factors (especially the history of Le Thanh Tong era) and cultural factors. Although it was still influenced by Confucianism, from the Hong Duc Code to its expression in literature, Le Thanh Tong had a more open view towards women. He honored and promoted all that women had done and contributed to society, as well as understanded, sympathized, and shared with their legitimate rights and unfortunate fates
