Approaching comedy works in grade-8 Literature textbooks according to genre characteristics

Abstract

In teaching Literature in high schools, approaching literary works according to genre characteristics is an important task. Comedy is a genre chosen to be taught in the Literature program. With its unique characteristics, the comedy needs taughting according to its genre characteristics so that students have the opportunity to approach it properly and methodically. Thereby, developing and improving the ability to read and understand comedy in particular as well as literary works in general.
