The examples in the Oxford First Dictionary

Abstract

In linguistic explanatory dictionaries, the  examples play a role in supplementing content that  is difficult or impossible to describe in the  definition. In order to have a theoretical and  practical basis for including examples in Vietnamese  explanatory dictionaries in general, Vietnamese  explanatory dictionaries for children, especially  primary school children in particular, this article  focuses on researching the inclusion of examples in the  Oxford First Dictionary, an English explanatory  dictionary for children aged 5 years and over,  published by Oxford University Press in 2002 in Italy.
