The ways of forming the terminology of Criminal Procedure Law in English and Vietnamese

Abstract

This article studies the ways to form the terminology of Criminal Procedure Law in English and Vietnamese based on factual sources. The article’s findings show that the terminology of English Criminal Procedure Law is formed in three ways: transforming commonly used words into terminology, creating terms based on existing corpus, and borrowing foreign terms; while the terminology of Vietnamese Criminal Procedure Law is formed in two ways: transforming commonly-used words into terminology and borrowing foreign terms.
