A contrastive analysis of structural features of Fashion terminologies in English and Vietnamese in terms of the origin of terminology elements

Abstract

Fashion terminologies are words and phrases denoting concepts, objects, things, phenomena, properties, activities, etc. of the Fashion industry. A study on Fashion terminologies, especially a contrastive analysis of Fashion terminologies in English and Vietnamese, has a practical significance for scientific research and social life today. Based on theoretical background and actual surveys, the paper presented the structural features of Fashion terminologies in English and Vietnamese in terms of the origin of structural elements. Hence, the most specific assessments and comparisons about the richly diverse origins of Fashion terminology elements in English and Vietnamese were concluded.
