Exploring young EFL lecturers’ perceptions and practices on professional development activities at Hanoi University of Industry

Abstract

This research was conducted to learn about the perceptions and practices of young English lecturers regarding professional development activities at Hanoi University of Industry. The research used a mixed research method including surveys and semi-structured interviews. The results showed that young lecturers appreciate the importance of professional development activities in improving teaching and research skills. The study also discovered the level of interest of young lecturers in professional development activities, which is very useful in helping educational managers devise policies to attract more attention of young lecturers.
