Contrastive analysis of lexical cohesive de- vices in English and Vietnamese texts

Abstract

This article contrasts the use of lexical cohesive devices in English and Vietnamese texts. 60 English and Vietnamese economic news were collected and analysed. The results indicate that there is a variety of lexical cohesion types employed and reiteration sub-types outnumber collocation ones. This study might have implications in language teaching and learning, translation and other related fields.
