Enhancing English grammar level for stu- dents of Thuongmai University through the application of mind maps

Abstract

The study investigates the impacts of applying mind maps to enhance English grammar for students at Thuongmai University. The study is conducted by experimental research method with the participation of 40 first-year students majoring in Tourism Management - Institute of International Cooperation, in 2 classes of English 1 for academic year 2021-2022. These two classes are divided into a control group and an experimental group. Research instruments include 2 grammar tests (a pre-test and a post-test), 2 survey questionnaires are distributed to students before and after applying mind maps. The results have shown that applying mind maps can help improve English grammar for students of Thuongmai University. The students also express their excitement and satisfaction with this method. From the obtained results, the author proposes some recommendations to enhance English grammar for students of Thuongmai University through the application of mind maps.
