Theoretical and practical bases of compiling the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Vietnamese Mythology

Abstract

Mythology with its inherent nature has become the research object of many sciences such as: Literature, Philosophy, Aesthetics, Ethnology, Culture, Archeology, Psychology, Art science, etc. Mythology has really attracted scientists specializing in social sciences and humanities all over the world. In order to compile the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Vietnamese Mythology, the compilers need to clarify the theoretical and practical issues, then build the outline, including issues such as: building the regulations, rules of compilation, macro- and micro-structures, etc. On these bases, the compilers implement to compile the entries based on the collected and surveyed materials. The article refers to determining the theoretical and practical bases of the work.
