Studying the syntactic structure in Ede proverbs

Abstract

Ede proverbs, besides other genres such as epics (khan), old stories, customary laws, etc., play an important role in the folklore treasure of the Ede people which is very rich and diverse. Especially, the Ede people’s proverbs are one of the typical literary genres. Through the special words, the Ede proverbs not only recreate the life, but also express the folk knowledge of the Ede people. The klei duê words themselves have formed the art in a concise, easy-to-remember, easy-to-memorize expression style that is close to the simple and wild life of the Ede people. Thus, Ede proverbs have affirmed their role and position, and contributed to enriching the folklore treasure of the nation.
