Applying the problem-based learning method to improve teamwork skills for university students

Abstract

Teamwork skills are increasingly interested in education, especially at the university level because of its extremely important role in the learning and working process. In addition, the problem-based learning method has many suitable points to improve teamwork skills, such as having to discuss in groups, solve problems together, etc. The author experimented with this method in the course of English for Specific Purpose 1 for students of Thuongmai University and comparing the results between the experimental group and the control group showed that the experimental group’s skills had positive changes. From the results of this study, the author proposes a number of solutions to apply problem-based learning to improve teamwork skills for students at Thuongmai University.
