Applying blended learning in teaching basic Ielts

Abstract

With the aim to improve the quality of teaching basic Ielts, the article carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of blended learning model in boosting the study results in all four skills namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing for freshmen of high-quality program at Thuongmai University. The experimental research was conducted in two classes: one with traditional teaching methods and the other with the combination of online and traditional methods. Questionnaire, survey, interview as well as pre- and post-tests were applied to evaluate the effectiveness of this model for the basic Ielts module. The findings show that the blended learning model helped improve all four skills of students.
