Introduction of entries about place names associated with festivals and rituals in the Dictionary of Historical - Cultural Places for Tourism Development in Thanh Hoa province

Abstract

Tourism associated with festivals and rituals plays an important role in humanistic tourism. Therefore, compiling entries on historical - cultural places associated with festivals and  rituals is identified as a key task in the Dictionary of Historical - Cultural Places for Tourism Development in Thanh Hoa Province. To compile these entries, the Dictionary follows a strict process: 1. Building principles and criteria for selecting historical - cultural places associated with the festival and rituals; 2. Building the structure of entries; 3. Compiling entries. Hopefully, the article will contribute a small part to preserving and promoting the cultural values of Thanh Hoa province, meeting the needs of people’s healthy cultural and spiritual activities, gradually promoting and introducing Thanh Hoa’s tourism products to domestic and international tourists.
