Encyclopedic information and inclusion of the encyclopedic information in Vietnamese explanatory dictionaries

Abstract

The article raises the necessity of encyclopedic information in language dictionaries. With inclusion of this information in the language dictionaries, dictionary definitions not only describe the words’ purely linguistic features, but also reveal the historical, cultural, technical, social, life, and other contexts associated with the used encyclopedic information
