Meronymy of the words expressing the newt body parts in Vietnamese and Lao

Abstract

The paper describes meronymy of the words expressing the newt body parts in Vietnamese and Lao. Through the surveyed data, it can be seen that the categorization of objective reality of the words expressing the newt body parts in Vietnamese is as general as that in Lao because they have similarities in the number of words denoting the whole (holonym). However, the cleavage of objective reality of the words expressing the newt body parts in Vietnamese is more specific and detailed than that in Lao because the number of the words denoting the part (meronym) in Vietnamese is larger than that in Lao
