Abstract

Language and culture create the characteristics of each ethnic group. In order to identify a people and differentiate its culture from other peoples, it is necessary to study its language and culture. Address terms and the uses of address terms in communication partly reflect the culture of this ethnic group. The article presents the characteristics of the Ede kin terms and their uses as address terms. The analysis will highlight the cultural characteristics of this ethnic group in the ancient society, the period of disintegration of the matriarchy
