Expressive values of compound words for color in Pacoh

Abstract

The research on the language, the writing, and the identity of ethnic minorities in general and ethnic minorities in the mountainous district of A Luoi of Thua Thien Hue province in particular, is one of the important issues that contribute to preserving the culture and identity of the ethnic groups in Vietnam. Since the class of words indicating color can reflect clearly the cultural and thinking characteristics of a community, the research of it in Pa Co language will show how the imprints of culture, identity and thinking of Pa Co people are expressed through the language. This article will clarify the above-mentioned issues through the system of words indicating colors in Pa Co language.
