Kinship terms in the southern Khmer language

Abstract

All languages have a kinship terminology system, but the naming of kins is not completely the same, so is the structure of the system or the structure of the kinship terms in each language. The system of kinship words in the world has the common feature of both expressing biological relationships and expressing the awareness of each ethnic group. The perception of kinship relationships in each ethnic group has many different points. This article uses statistical methods to determine the number of words in the Southern Khmer kinship terminology system, and descriptive methods to analyze their structural and pragmatic features. The article is intended to help teach languages and contribute additional materials to the research on f languages of ethnic minorities.
