Some structural features of fire terminologies in English

Abstract

Fire terminologies are words and phrases denoting concepts, objects, things, phenomena, properties, activities... in the field of fire prevention and fighting. Based on theoretical backgrounds and actual surveys, the article describes and analyzes the structural features of fire terminologies in English in terms of the following aspects: number of terminology elements, word classes and terminology formation methods. As a result, specific analyses and assessments on the structural features of these terminologies are concluded
