Abstract

Ba Na language has been identified with three main dialects (PN) in which there are different characteristics of the initial consonant. In general, the rotation trend of consonants is shown in the modes of articulation and position of articulation. Groups of initial consonants that often rotate include  [p, b], [d, t], [ɡ, k]. In which, it is noted that the first consonant tends to be devoiced or is in the stage of dispute between the voiceless - voiced opposition. Determination of consonant variation, based on VOT data and spectral analysis, allows researchers to describe the subtleties of vocalization of initial consonants in Bahnar dialects. Depending on the type of initial consonant, the F0, F1 and F2 values of the vowel are different.
