Abstract

Vocal cord disease is a common disease not only in Vietnam but also globally. According to some studies, vocal cord diseases account for 58% of laryngeal diseases [2], [3], [6]. These diseases affect the quality of the voice, mainly causing the voice to be hoarse, unclear in tone, and over time lead to loss of voice, making it difficult for patients to communicate in social life. However, research related to vocal cord pathology is still very limited and is in need of research attention. In this article, we describe the vibration of the vocal cords through two parameters, the frequency disturbance parameter (Jitter) and the amplitude characteristic evaluation parameter (Shimmer) to provide acoustic parameters that describe the characteristics of the Vietnamese speech.
