This article explains Sharifian’s theoretical framework of Cultural Linguistics with various cross-cultural examples of linguistic expressions grounded in shared cultural conceptualizations within speech communities. The article also develops the analytical tools of Cultural Linguistics into detailed models and steps to facilitate their application in practical investigations. Finally, from the perspective of Cultural Linguistics, the article suggests several approaches for linguistic research on language translation, cultural contact, ethnic language, language varieties, register variation, intercultural communication, and teaching English as an international language (TEIL).
